Mrs. Ramee is the first face everyone sees in the academic office, and Canterbury welcomes Mrs. Ramee as the new administrative assistant in the Student Life office.
Mrs. Ramee joined the Canterbury community last November right before Thanksgiving. She took over the position after Mrs. Simonelli retired last year. She was a stay-at-home mom right before coming to Canterbury, taking care of her three boys.
Stepping into the shoes of Mrs. Simonelli was no easy task, but Mrs. Ramee seems to have pulled it off.
“Mrs Ramee has been a wonderful addition to the student life office,” said Mr. LaVigne, Assistant Head of School for Student Life. “Much like Mrs. Simonelli, she is organized, likes working with young people, has a great sense of humor, and can roll with the pace of day to day life at Canterbury.”
Mrs. Ramee used to sell golf apparel since her husband is a professional golf player. Now that her youngest boy is in the sixth grade at Rumsey, she found she had a lot of time on her hands, which is why she chose to pick up a full time job.
Mrs. Ramee was no stranger to Canterbury because all three of her boys play hockey here. Meanwhile, she got to know Mrs. Stone because her son Oliver is good friends with the Stones’ son, Kip.
Mrs. Ramee loves Canterbury. She enjoys working with the faculty and students in the very busy student life office.
Much of what takes up her day is making sure students are where they’re supposed to be.
“Tracking students on campus, making sure they are okay and finding out where they are,” can keep her day full, Mrs. Ramee said.
She also helps to set up weekly schedules, weekend activities and supports Mr. LaVigne and Mr. Dellorco in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Finally, Mrs. Ramee’s message to students is, “Go to class and be on time. Show up!”
It makes her job easier!
